My research and teaching examine the intersection of corporate sustainability, politics, and strategic management in the governance of contested global issues. In particular, I discuss two interrelated topics: (1) public-private governance in the context of addressing global social and environmental problems, especially how voluntary standards can improve the enforcement of basic rights and (2) sustainable finance/ESG and the work of Boards of Directors in support of corporate sustainability.
